Jan Bajtlik
Jan Bajtlik (born in 1989 in Warsaw). He studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, graduating in 2013 with honors under the mentorship of Professor Lech Majewski. During his studies, he participated in exchange programs, including at École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD) in Paris. Since 2016, he has collaborated with Hermès, designing iconic silk scarves, jewelry, watches, and ceramics.

Bajtlik has received numerous awards, including a Special Mention at the Bologna Ragazzi Award (2015), a Silver Medal at the 10th International Poster Triennial in Toyama (2011), and a Bronze Medal at the 12th edition of the same competition (2018). In 2015, he was honored with the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Award for his artistic and educational achievements. His illustrated book Auto was included in The New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Books list in 2018. His works have been showcased in various prestigious graphic design competitions, such as the Poster Biennale in Warsaw, the Graphic Triennial in Krakow, and the Poster Biennale in Mexico.

In his artistic practice, Bajtlik draws inspiration from the early visual culture of Europe, particularly the heritage of antiquity and the origins of writing. His works often engage in a dialogue between contemporary themes and the experiences of the past, referencing ancient art. Additionally, he is fascinated by calligraphy and the aesthetics of the Far East, especially Japan, which influence the expressive quality of his painterly gestures. While he employs traditional media, Bajtlik integrates modern means of expression.
