Antoni Starowieyski

June 16 –  July 25, 2023

The exhibition consists of more than a dozen works. For several years, landscape has been the most important aspect of his paintings. Starowieyski travels through the roadsides of the city, the surroundings of thermal power plants, abandoned places and transfers onto canvas what he has seen and what has made the perceived sight stay with him for longer. The artist paints horizons captured together with light, left over from the sun that is no longer visible. Industrial elements can be seen in the paintings, such as an old triangulation tower, an overgrown railway siding with a seemingly forgotten carriage. In the exhibition, the paintings from 2022 and 2023 feature the same themes that the painter has dealt with before, but presented differently, with time the image and understanding of the world changes. Antoni Starowieyski changes while remaining true to himself. His works speak of this important trait of his character and his work.
